34. Subtitles for British Singer on US T.V

Susan Boyle, a popular new British singer appeared on the Charles Osgood t.v. show in the US with subtitles. Her spoken voice is quite incomprehensible for the average American.

An American once asked me where I'd picked up my English. He nearly fell flat when I said 'in Britain'.

Sed cxu vi estas usona civitano au' brita au' dana? I found your English quite native in some idiomatic usage at your article at Nation Magazine. I find Nation sometimes challenging to read, which also leads me to think you are a native.
